How to Plan a Wedding without Breaking the Bank

If you have the time and are willing to do your homework, it is possible to have an elegant wedding without breaking the bank.

Many traditional wedding venues have strict time parameters for delivery and pick up, as they are planning for multiple events in quick succession. Small delivery windows, late night pick ups, or working on off days means overtime and incentive pay for your vendor team, which in turn will be reflected in the overall price you pay.

A good strategy for avoiding the high venue cost is putting a canopy in your own backyard, or maybe asking a good friend or family member if you could hold your event on their property. Having a wedding at home gives you control over all aspects of your event. It also grants you the freedom to plan your wedding on your own timeline, no need to rush to set up and take down everything all on the day of.

Like most things, the key to a successful wedding is doing proper research. You need to make sure that you are working with companies that have the experience and the ability to give you advice that you can count on. Don’t settle for sending emails back and forth; visit their showrooms and ask them to come visit your event site for a personalized experience. If they do not give you confidence and cannot answer all of your questions, do not work with them.
